Private Sector Housing Team Contractor

• As part of the wider Management Team under the Director of Housing, I implemented multiple new procedures on HMO enforcement, complaints handling, COVID-19 inspection.

• At short notice, designed the PSH Team’s inspection procedures and paperwork for the Homes for Ukraine Scheme. Trained officers. Within 1st month inspected over 60+ properties.

• Supervised a team of inexperienced officers and ensured a better response to housing complaints. Gave advice, prepared, and presented training on HHSRS, HMOs, and other skills; inc. workshops on powers of entry requirements (s239) and overcrowding assessments.

• Designed initial IT solution and worked with IT on new enforcement payments app (PEPA).

Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea (March 2020-August 2021)

Private Sector Housing Manager

• Managed and built up a team of 12+ health and housing officers and increased upon the previous year’s level of enforcement, through motivation, mentoring and new procedures.

• Kept the team operational during Covid restrictions. Normal inspections/enforcement still took place. Lead the Team to still be effective in a rapidly changing environment. Improvised new ways of working to remain operational, whilst keeping officers and residents/clients safe.

• Led the team’s response to constant Covid-19 measures in the PRS, acting on changing data and threats to health.
